Keyboard Tutorial for Beginners in Indian Style, Part-2
This Keyboard Tutorial in Indian Style is made by HUMMING WOODS for beginners. We have kept the tutorial very simple so that a new comer to music can understand it easily.
In this tutorial we will first start you with a rhythm that is built in to almost all keyboards. The rhythm is called WALTZ. It is a 6 beat rhythm and the counting system has been illustrated in the video itself. Have a look.
The rhythm WALTZ can be written in the notation as shown below.
1 2 3 | 4 5 6 1 2 3 | 4 5 6 1 2 3 | 4 5 6 1 2 3 | 4 5 6
The first beat of the rhythm is called Sam (सम , ताली) i.e the place where 1 is written & called the first beat of the cycle, and the second beat or part of the rhythm is called (फाँक , खाली ) i.e where 4 is written. The details of beat or ताल will be covered in our forth coming lessons.
Now the playing notation according to the beat is as follow
Aroha (ascent) or आरोह
सा S S | रे S S | गा S S | मा S S | पा S S | धा S S | नि S S | सा‘ S S
Avroha (descent) or अवरोह
सा‘ S S | नि S S | धा S S | पा S S | मा S S | गा S S | रे S S | सा S S
Now the symbol S means you have to stay at that beat. Details of counting, staying and playing has been demonstrated in the video. Kindly have a look.
There is no Sutra (formula) or Key to learn music in the fast track. Its all depends on you, your dedication & your attitude that makes the learning fast.
Best Of Luck and Happy Playing
